Beggar’s Night is set for 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in Newton, and several trick-or-treating opportunities are scheduled around town, including the following:
• Downtown Trick-or-Treating from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
• Trick-or-treating from 5 to 8 p.m. at Skiff Medical Center.
• Trick-or-treating from 6 to 7 p.m. at Newton Village.
• Trick-or-treating from 6 to 8 p.m. at Park Centre.
• Trick-or-treating from 5 to 7 p.m. at McCann Village.
• A haunted house from 6 to 8 p.m. at Newton Health Care Center.
• Face painting, music and games for children from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Newton Senior High School. The event is sponsored by the Community Cardinals.
• “Trunk or Treat” from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Kellogg United Methodist Church. Children are invited to trick-or-treat among the decorated vehicle trunks in the parking lot.
