Kellogg Garden Club

Rosemary Hicks of Des Moines demonstrated outdoor cooking in a box and in Dutch ovens at the Aug. 27 meeting of the Kellogg Garden Club. Guests from the Baxter Garden Club in addition to members from the Kellogg club and their guests enjoyed the meal prepared by the presenter.

Recently the Kellogg Garden Club toured the Turkey Ridge Lily Farm in Marshalltown. The farm has 500-600 lilies. Following the tour the group enjoyed a meal at Culver’s.

Members of the Garden Club continue to maintain the flower beds in Kellogg at the triangle, city hall and the library. The next meeting will be at 4 p.m. Sept. 24 at Mariposa Park. Katie Cantu, Jasper County Conservation naturalist, will lead the group in banding butterflies. Guests are welcome.
