Miller named 4-H Hunter Under Saddle Champion

Emily Miller, daughter of Rick and Kim Miller of Newton, was named the 2013 Iowa State Fair 4-H Hunter Under Saddle Champion. Miller made her way through three preliminary rounds to take the title, winning her age division (seventh to ninth graders) and then was asked to competed for the overall title that included exhibitors in fifth through 12th grades. Miller brought home three purple ribbons and a belt buckle for her accomplishments. She also received blue ribbons in the 4-H western pleasure and showmanship classes and was highlighted during the IPTV State Fair program on Aug. 12. She is a freshman at Newton Senior High School.
