Culver’s co-founder to visit Newton restaurant

Craig Culver, co-founder of Culver’s restaurants, will be visiting the Newton franchise Tuesday, Aug. 27, to thank local customers for their patronage during Guest Appreciation Day.

“Our guests have been dedicated and loyal, and we want to thank them for their support,” Newton franchise owner Curt Herbig said. “Since opening our doors in 2002, we have been dedicated to providing our guests high-quality, cooked-to-order food and outstanding customer service. This is a celebration of our guests.”

Culver, who founded the restaurant chain with his wife and parents in Sauk City, Wis., in 1984, will greet guests from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The first 50 guests will receive free frozen custard. Drawings will be held throughout the day, as well.

Herbig and his wife Mandy took over management of the restaurant earlier this year.

“We love being part of the Newton community and are proud of our team members who have helped us succeed,” he said. “We’re happy we’re able to give back to our wonderful guests.”
