Newton Clinic providers thank community for opportunity to serve

To the editor:

First, we wish to express our gratitude at the memory of the physicians who, as far back as the 1920s, established the roots of Newton Clinic. In the hustle and bustle of daily medical practice, it can be easy to forget that the doctors of Newton Clinic have been caring for this community for more than 80 years.

This rich legacy is thanks to the hard work and vision of medical doctors John Billingsley, Thomas Wright, Marvin Moles, Ervin Wittenberg and the many skilled physicians who followed.

Today, we wish to thank the many citizens of Newton and surrounding communities who entrust their care to us.

When babies are born in this town, they are delivered by a Newton Clinic doctor. When someone needs to be hospitalized locally, that admission is carried out by a Newton Clinic doctor. When an individual has a life-limiting illness, they can turn to Skiff Hospice, overseen by Newton Clinic doctors.

From the beginning of life to the end of it, our patients turn to Newton Clinic. We are grateful for that.

Finally, we say thank you to everyone as we continue to grow. Next month, we will be welcoming a new physician, our 14th, Dr. Stephanie Bantell, who will provide family practice and OB services.

To date, our physicians have been with Newton Clinic a combined total of 207 years. Add in our talented nurse practitioners, physician assistant and podiatrist, and that number jumps by another 50 years.

What this means for our patients is that, if they want a male provider or a female one; a new graduate or a veteran doc; a mid-level or a physician; they can have their needs met thanks to the wide variety of caregivers at our clinic.

We know that every patient — current and future — has a choice. We want to thank each one of you who has, or we hope will, turn to Newton Clinic for your needs. We want to make you better when you are sick, keep you healthy when your well, help you grow your family when a little one is on the way, and help you say goodbye in peace when your journey is done.

Thank you for letting us treat you ... like family.

Signed by the following Newton Clinic providers:

Paul Ruggle, M.D.; Steve Hill, M.D.; Pat Edwards, M.D.; Orville Bunker, M.D.; T.Y. Chan, D.O.; Philip Clevenger, D.O.; Min Pak, M.D., Leighton Frost, M.D.; Mureema Solberg., M.D.; Zack Alexander, M.D., CCD; Malini Kethireddy, M.D.; Duane Jolivette, M.D.; and Andrew Cope, D.O.
