Ashton bat netting program

Jasper County Conservation will be offering a bat netting program at 7:30 p.m. Aug.  17 at Ashton Wildwood Park.  

The event will include a short overview of bats found in Iowa. At dusk, special guest Dr. Russell Benedict will set up nets to give participants a chance to see live bats. After the netting program has finished participants are welcome to join the Des Moines Astronomical Society for the weekly program at the observatory.
