Warrant search results in drug bust

On Monday night, Newton police and members of the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement Task Force executed a search warrant at 820 First St. N. that resulted in the seizure of marijuana, hash and drug paraphernalia.

Michael Burgess, 56, was charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Peter Burgess, 19, was charged with possession of marijuana, possession of hash, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Both were taken to Jasper County Jail.
