DES MOINES – Kayla Vanderlaan of Newton has been honored as a presidential Scholar at AIB College of Business for the spring 2013 term.
“Our presidential scholars are the best of the best,” said AIB President Nancy Williams. “Students like Kayla have the ambition, the will and the talent to shine here and to be rising stars in the business world.”
AIB challenges all its students to make the most of the educational opportunities at the college to prepare for the careers they will be building in business, Williams said.
“Kayla and our other presidential scholars lead by example, inspiring everyone around them to aim higher and push harder,” she said.
To qualify as a presidential scholar, Vanderlaan attained a grade point average of 3.80 or higher for the term. Vanderlaan is earning an associate in applied science degree in sports and event management at AIB.
