Newton Police Department

• Jamie N. Dorn, 30, of Newton was arrested at 8:09 p.m. Tuesday at 430 N. Eighth Ave. E. on a warrant for failure to appear in court for a review hearing for failure to pay child support. She was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

Jasper County Sheriff’s Office

• Megan D. Daniels, 31, of Newton and Natasha J. Cooper, 26, of Colfax each were arrested and charged with criminal trespass and possession of drug paraphernalia after authorities responded to a complaint at 4:21 a.m. Wednesday of subjects trespassing in a vacant rental property at 469 W. 24th St. N. in Newton. During the investigation, both Daniels and Cooper allegedly attempted to hide a metal smoking bong, and Daniels allegedly had five clonazepam pills and methamphetamine in her possession. Daniels was additionally charged with possession of prescription medication without a prescription and possession of methamphetamine. Both were taken to the Jasper County Jail.

• Arick R. Reese, 25, of Colfax was cited for having an open container of alcohol in a vehicle after authorities initiated a traffic stop at 11:04 p.m. Tuesday in the 300 block of East Plainsman Drive in Prairie City. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.

A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the policy of the Newton Daily News to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 16 and older.
