The Newton youth football program is entering its seventh season of tackle football for Newton area fifth- and sixth-grade boys and girls. Registration for the program will be this Saturday, May 4, from 9 a.m. to noon in the Newton Senior High School cafeteria.
All players need to be present so they can be fitted for equipment. Newton has fielded three teams each year. The returning sixth-grade players will stay on the team they played for the previous year, while new fifth- and sixth-grade players will be drafted by the coaches after the registration period is complete.
Parents can pay the registration fee of $125 by cash, check or credit card. Late fees will be applied to all registrations after May 10.
