Area roundup: PCM boys golf takes second at quad
On the heels of a second-place showing at the Heart of Iowa Conference meet on Monday, the Prairie City-Monroe boys golf team picked up another second-place finish in a quadrangular at Jester Park on Tuesday.
The Class 2A No. 1 Mustangs shot a 159, finishing five strokes behind first-place South Hamilton, which won the HOI meet. Devon Woody and Ryan Jennings each shot a 38 to lead the Mustangs, while Justin Beener carded a 41. Hunter Van Veen and Reid Jenkins rounded out the scoring with 42s each.
“I thought Ryan and Devon both played very well today,” PCM coach Mike Smth said. “We have never played at Jester Park so it was a great test for us. Reid Jenkins also played a very solid round. He is getting better each time out.”
