Winners of ‘Second Chance’ NCAA bracket challenge announced

Missing only three of the final 15 games of the NCAA Division I men’s basketball championship, Dennis Terlouw of Newton was the winner of the Newton Daily News’ “Second Chance” bracket challenge.

Nearly a third of the entries successfully picked Louisville and Michigan to face each other in the championship game. But Terlouw distanced himself from the pack by correctly picking nearly all of the “Sweet 16” games.

As winner of the contest, he will receive $50. Second place, and a $35 prize, will go to Stan Allspach of Baxter. Third place, and a $15 cash prize, will go to Jean Holmes of Newton.

Prize checks are now available and may be picked up at the Daily News office.
