May BIZ luncheon to discuss role of failure in success

Christian Gurney, CEO and co-founder of Torsion Mobile, will headline the May Business Innovation Zone luncheon with a discussion about the role of failure in business success on May 15 at 11:30 a.m. at the Greater Des Moines Partnership.

Now in the midst of the change, Gurney is cautiously optimistic as development of customer feedback inspired enhanced tools moves forward and early indications are that a new business model that involves more direct sales to users can be profitable.

“The entrepreneurial thrust of my talk will be that while we in the Midwest tend not to celebrate failure, it is in fact possible to learn a great deal from it and to move forward in areas that have more promise,” explains Gurney noting that while this is much easier to say than to do, he intends to share what this likely means for companies as well as for investors.

The Greater Des Moines Partnership is located at 700 Locust St., Suite 100. Email events@bizci.com for more information. Tickets are $15, which includes lunch, and may be purchased at https://tikly.co/BusinessInnovationZone.
