NCS hog roast, auction tonight

The Newton Christian School’s annual hog roast and auction is set for tonight at Community Heights Alliance Church in Newton. Pork sandwiches and all the fixings will be served from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. for a freewill donation, and the open auction will begin at 7 p.m. More than 100 items will be featured, including four Walt Disney World park hopper passes, an autographed Greenbay Packers football (pictured above), two general admission tickets to an Iowa State Cyclones game, four Kansas City Royals tickets, two Reiman Gardens admission passes, four Iowa Cubs general admission tickets for the 2013 season, two passes to Living History Farms, six tickets to the 23rd Annual Arnold Motor Supply 360 Knoxville Nationals on Aug. 1-3, tickets to any 2013 Knoxville Championship Cup Series Race, six tickets to the Kansas City Zoo, four Iowa Barnstormers tickets, two Silver Dollar City tickets, two tickets to “Rock of Ages” on April 27, dozens of local restaurant and store gift certificates and many other items.
