In honor of St. Patrick’s Day, registered dietician Jenny Thompson, RD., LD., CDE., led a cooking class for children Saturday in the Hy-Vee Club Room. The children made green foods, from broccoli cheese soup and kiwi smoothies to shamrock pretzel bites and leprechaun cake.  Taylor Maki, 7, and Thompson stir the soup. Nine-year-old Hunter Kennedy and 5-year-old Austin Kennedy help make preparations for the smoothies. Dawson Maki, 5, concentrates while smearing decorating a pretzel.
