New season of Horsepower Hour starts Feb. 25

Officials of Iowa Speedway and Iowa’s Best Country, KIX 101.1 announced today that the popular weekly motorsports radio talk show, Horsepower Hour, will return to the airwaves at 6 p.m. on Monday evening, Feb. 25 on KIX 101.1 FM in Marshalltown.

Broadcast from 6 to 7 p.m. every Monday throughout the entire NASCAR racing season, ‘Horsepower Hour’ will feature interviews with racing stars and key motorsports industry leaders, and is hosted by Morning KIX Start host, Todd Collins, and Iowa Speedway Vice President Chuck Spicer.

“We are thrilled to open our fifth consecutive season of ‘Horsepower Hour’,” Spicer said.  “The show has been a great promotional tool for Iowa Speedway, as well as very entertaining and informative for the KIX listeners. We have a terrific line-up of famous and interesting guests for this season, starting with NASCAR Hall of Famer Rusty Wallace this Monday.”

Iowa’s Best Country, KIX 101.1 is a key media partner with Iowa Speedway, and the relationship has continued virtually since the track opened in 2006.

“Iowa Speedway’s fan base and KIX listeners are cut from the same cloth,” said Collins, who also serves as KIX 101.1’s program director. “Our audience enjoys both ‘Iowa’s Best Country’ on KIX 101.1 and Iowa’s best racing at Iowa Speedway in Newton. And Horsepower Hour is a great way to bring everyone together.”
