• Carrie E. Ares, 27, of Marion was charged with driving while license suspended after authorities stopped her at 10:22 p.m. Saturday in the 100 block of First Avenue West for a headlight violation. Authorities determined her license was suspended, and she also was given a warning for the headlights. She released to appear in court.
• Felisha R. Cannon, 36, of Newton was charged with four counts of forgery following an investigation of thefts from residents of Nelson Manor. Cannon, who was employed at Nelson Manor, was charged for allegedly forging two checks, one for $450 and another for $120, from one victim in November and for allegedly forging two more checks, one for $500 and another for $200, in October. She was charged Feb. 4 at the Newton Police Department and released to appear in court.
