Methamphetamine lab discovered at Mid-Iowa Motel
Members of the Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement East Task Force along with the Newton Police Department discovered a methamphetamine lab along with drug paraphernalia after they searched Mid-Iowa Motel on an outstanding warrent issued by the Urbandale Police Department for Timothy David Jacobs, 25, of Newton at approximately 12:30 a.m. on Wednesday.
Jacobs is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail on charges of manufacturing methamphetamine greater than five grams, a Class B Felony, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a simple misdemeanor, with a current bond of $25,000. Additional charges and enhancements to his current charges are pending. A Class B Felony is punishable to a maximum sentence of 25 years in a state prison. A simple misdemeanor carriers a maximum sentence of 30 days in a county jail.
The Mid-Iowa Narcotics Enforcement East Task Force members are from the Knoxville Police Department, Newton Police Department, Pella Police Department and Jasper County Sheriff’s Office with the M.I.N.E. Central Task Force located in Des Moines that currently has 16 agencies participating in the task force.
