After the first round of the wrestling postseason over the weekend, plenty of Jasper County athletes have set themselves up for a possible appearance at the state meet.

Lynnville-Sully advanced to regional duals as a team and will send five individual wrestlers to districts, Prairie City-Monroe will send four individuals to the next step and Colfax-Mingo had two individual champions and will advance four wrestlers overall. Collins-Maxwell-Baxter competed as well, but wasn’t able to advance any competitors.

The top two teams from each district and top two individuals at each weight class were given passage to districts this upcoming weekend.
