Carlene M. Taylor

Carlene M. Taylor, 33, of Newton died on Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2013, at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

A celebration of life service will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home. Memorials to the Carlene Taylor Memorial Fund may be left at the funeral home.

Carlene, the daughter of Carl M. and Donna A. (Lester) Anderson, Jr., was born on March 16, 1979, in St. Joseph, Mo. She grew up in Colorado and graduated from Horizon High School in Brighton, Colorado. She received her two-year degree from Southwest Community College in Clarinda, Iowa. Carlene was a shift supervisor at TPI in Newton for over three years. She enjoyed scrapbooking, knitting, music, and going to her children’s activities.

Those left to honor Carlene’s memory are her daughter, Alexis Taylor of Newton; son, Jordan Taylor of Newton; her mother, Donna (Kenny) Hodge of Newton; father, Carl Martin Anderson, Jr. of Albuquerque, N.M.; her boyfriend, Lavene Cole Jr. of Newton; brother, Denziel Lewis of St. Joseph, Mo.; and sister, Elizabeth Van Gundy of St. Joseph, Mo. She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Phillip and Eva L. Lester, and paternal grandparents, Carl M. and Helen Anderson.
