Newton Police Department
• Zachary T. Sudbrock, 21, of Newton was arrested and charged with domestic assault after authorities responded to a report of a fight at 4:10 p.m. Monday at 712 E. 12th St. N. in Newton. Sudbrock allegedly assaulted a 28-year-old male during an argument. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
• John M. Neal, 38, of Newton was arrested at 11:20 a.m. Monday at his residence at 809 E. 10th St. S. on a warrant for domestic assault and simple assault. Neal was charged for allegedly assaulting 37-year-old female and a 20-year-old male on Dec. 25 at his residence. Neal had fled the scene after the incident, and authorities issued a warrant for his arrest. He was taken to the Jasper County Jail.
Jasper County Sheriff’s Office
• Kenneth H. Dee, 55, of Mingo was arrested at 5:19 p.m. Tuesday at his residence on a warrant for failure to appear in court on a charge of prohibited acts — possession without a prescription, second offense. He was transported to the Jasper County Jail.
A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty. It is the policy of the Newton Daily News to release the names of individuals charged with a crime who are 16 and older.
