Edith Wood

Edith Wood, 93, of Monroe passed away on Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2012 at Newton Health Care.

A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 29, at Coburn Funeral Home in Monroe, with burial following at Fairview Cemetery. Visitation will be for one hour prior to the service on Saturday. Memorials may be directed to the Monroe Fire Department or the Newton Health Care Center. Condolences may be left for the family at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Raymond and Ethel (Decker) Koder, Edith was born on Dec. 4, 1919, in Reasnor. She graduated from Newton Senior High School in 1938. On Oct. 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Bert Wood. Edith worked as a waitress Dawson’s Coffee Shop and telephone operator at the Reasnor Phone Company.
