PCM hoops sweeps Colfax-Mingo; boys remain undefeated
The Prairie City-Monroe boys basketball team brought its record to 7-0 and the Mustangs girls got back to .500 with a sweep of county foe Colfax-Mingo Tuesday night.
The Mustang boys (7-0, 5-0 Heart of Iowa Conference) got their second-straight 20-point game from junior Dillon Bruxvoort, but the Tigerhawks responded with 20 from senior Austin Yoakum and 19 from senior Vaughn Wilson in a narrow 59-55 win for PCM. The Mustangs held a 36-17 lead at halftime, but the Tigerhawks fell just short with a 38-23 second half.
PCM also got double-digit scorers in seniors Ethan Kain (12), Alex DeWitte (11) and Michael Neff (10), while freshman Logan Gilman rounded out the team scoring with six. The Mustangs also won the rebound battle 29-24.
