Although I said I did not want any publicity for my 98th birthday, Nov. 30, I enjoyed receiving all of your many cards. They were read to me a few at a time.
I received many letters from former co-workers, students, ministers, parents and church friends. There was also one from my now-closed Rebekah Lodge.
Some of the mothers may have remembered small incidents of kindness, such as writing with my left hand on the blackboard to left-handed children seated accordingly.
Or, teaching children to help handicapped children with their boots or clothing to go home.
And now to all my friends, thank you and have a very happy holiday season.
