The First Federated Church of Des Moines will be putting a creative twist on Chistmas entertainment this weekend with a show they’ve billed as a “true-to-life, pop/rock/county Christmas story.”

“The Boyz Are Back In Town,” an original music drama which follows the lives of the members of the fiction “Boyz” band, will be performed at the church both Friday and Saturday and 7 p.m.

The performance will feature country music star Jason Brown, a native of Pella, contemporary Christian artist and songwriter Scott Krippayne, and Christian artist and worship leader David Bush.

While the Boyz band and the storyline of the show remain fictional, the events that take place throughout the production closely mirror events that have happened in each of these artists’ lives.

The production, written and produced by Bush, will run approximately two hours and is free and open to all.

The church is located at 4801 Franklin Ave. in Des Moines.
