Jasper County prepares for winter months with new snow plow drivers

The Jasper County Board of Supervisors will meet at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday to prepare for the winter months ahead by approving the hiring of three new snow plow divers.

The new drivers are: George M. Wormley, Jon E. Van Manen and Joel Branderhorst. Each will be temporary part-time employees. If approved, they will be paid $16 an hour. The drivers will be active from Dec. 12 to April 30, 2013. They will receive no benefits or pay increases.

In addition, the board will look at a proposal to install a door for the sanitary building. The proposal suggest that the new door get a lock, panic bar and a door closer. The estimated cost is $3,660.

In other news, The board will vote on the transferring of money of two funds. One transfer is for $81,587.64. If approved, the money would be transferred from the General Basic Fund to the Secondary Road Fund. The other transfer is for $1,029,910.39. If approved, the money would be transferred from the Rural Services Basic Fund to the Secondary Roads Fund.

In addition, the board will hear a budget amendment from Director of Jasper County Conservation, Keri Van Zante.

In other news, the board will hear from Vic Amoroso from A & J Associates about the HVAC System.
