Jane ‘Jean’ Bucklin

Jane “Jean” Bucklin, 87, a longtime resident of Baxter, died on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, following a short illness.

Jean was born on Nov. 1, 1925, in Glasgow, Scotland, to William Bowers and Anne (Campbell) McReynolds Bowers,

Survivors include her husband of 67 years, Russell of Baxter; four daughters, Shirley (Bruce) Nuzum of Newton, Linda (Chuck) Oliver of Knoxville, Barbara Clarahan of Des Moines and Vickie Lane of Newton; her great-niece, Helen Anderson of Neilston, East Renfrewshire, Scotland; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, Douglas Clarahan; granddaughter, Heather Nuzum; four brothers, two sisters, and a niece.

A memorial service was this morning, Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at the Wallace Family Funeral Home, 1115 E. 19th St. N. in Newton.

In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials in Jean’s name be left at the funeral home. Memorials may also be mailed to the funeral home. Please add, Attn: Bucklin Family on the envelope.
