Newton Police

Department

• Chad E. Berry, 30, of Newton was arrested at 9:48 p.m. Monday for failure to appear in court for not paying child support.

• Tanner B. Jensen, 22, of Newton was arrested for interface of bodily injury, introducing drugs in jail, drug tax stamp and possession of methamphetamine. Officers chased Jensen, which caused an injury to an officer due to barbed wire. Jensen was arrested and taken to jail.

• Kinzie K. Mueller, 19, was arrested Monday for possession of drug paraphernalia. Police also discovered she had an outstanding warrant for arrest, Wednesday at 2:18 a.m. she was arrested and transferred to Marshall County.

• Megan D. Daniels, 31, was arrested on Monday at 604 E. Third St. for an outstanding warrant. She was arrested and transported to Polk County.

• A bike was found at 10:53 a.m. Tuesday at the intersection of West Sixth Street South and 15th Avenue West. For more information, contact the NPD at (641) 791-0850.

Jasper County

Sheriff’s Office

• James A. Bonnett, 28, of Newton was arrested for child endangerment around 8 a.m. Tuesday morning. His 8-month-old daughter was outside, and was not properly clothed. Bonnett admitted he had taken 18 pills (cold medicine) to get high. Police described him as jittery and sweating outside. Bonnett was arrested and taken to jail.

Prairie City Police Department

• Thomas Matthew Pleasant, 20, of Seymour, Ind., was charged on Nov. 5 with two counts of forgery and fourth degree theft. The charges stem from an investigation into forged checks at Prairie City Foods on Oct. 22. Through the investigation, Pleasant was identified as the suspect and charged. Warrants were issued for his arrest.

• Valerie Marie McPhee, 35, of Carlisle was arrested at 8:36 p.m. Nov. 10 on an outstanding arrest warrant out of the Altoona Police Department for harassment. McPhee was transported to the Polk County line and turned over to Altoona Police.

• David Georgeo Gene Hallmann, 37, of Prairie City was arrested at 11:24 p.m. Nov. 10 after police were dispatched to a domestic disturbance on West Steenhoek Street. After an investigation, police arrested Hallmann for domestic assault – simple. Officers determined Hallmann assaulted a 36-year-old Prairie City woman by pushing her down and spitting on her. Hallmann was placed in the Jasper County Jail.
