PCM basketball sweeps South Hamilton
It was an all-round successful night for Prairie City-Monroe basketball, as both the boys and girls teams earned victories over South Hamilton in Monroe on Tuesday.
The Mustang girls (2-3, 1-3 Heart of Iowa Conference) had three players in double figures in their 65-44 win over the Hawks. Sophomore Courtney Van Houweling led the pack with 17 points, but junior Abbi Gilson was right behind her with 16 and Krisha Houseman finished with 12.
Eight players scored for the Mustangs overall, with senior Kelsey Townsend adding a team-high seven assists to her seven points. Freshman Karina Van Dyke also added six points and two rebounds off the bench.
