They balanced their scoring well, as sophomores Madison Rasmusson and Lysandra James had 13 points and junior Rachel Van Wyk had 12. Rasmusson had six steals, while James had nine rebounds.
On the boys side, Lynnville-Sully improved to 2-1 (1-0) by blowout past HLV in the fourth quarter. It led 30-21 after the third before outscoring the Warriors 21-1 in the last eight minutes. Junior TJ Cunninham led the way with 13 points and senior Nathan Russell had 12.
“We struggled to find a rhythm offensively, but continued to play tough defense,” Hawks coach Nick Harthoorn said. “The guys hung in there and finished with a strong fourth quarter.”
