Newton Police Department

• Douglas G. McCeun, 29, of Newton was arrested at 1:22 p.m. Monday on a parole violation from a previous burglary charge. McCeun was arrested and taken to jail.

• Levi A. Lear, 23, of Des Moines was arested at 2:35 p.m. Tuesday at 1107 W. Fourth St. N. on a Polk County warrant for child endangerment. He was arrested and transferred back to Polk County.

Sheriff’s Office

• John P. Hines, 39, of Newton was arrested in the 4400 block of Highway 14 South at 9:10 p.m. for driving on a suspended licence and speeding. Hines was arrested and taken into custody.
