Deputy Auditor saves Jasper County $1,800

Deputy Auditor Melissa Hartgers saved Jasper County $1,800.

The Jasper County Board of Supervisors met Tuesday to approve a lease with T-Mobile.

The original lease agreement presented to the board had an error.

Hartgers noticed the mistake, and saved the county $1,800. The lease transfer, from T-Mobile to Iowa Wireless Services, LLC, was approved with the mistake corrected.

The board also approved of the hiring of Network Administrator Ryan Eaton. Eaton will start Dec. 11. He will be paid $63,256. Manager of Human Resources Dennis Simon was happy the supervisors approved Eaton’s hiring.

“Ryan worked in the department prior,” said Simon. “He is an asset to the county.”

The board met with Emergency Management Director Jim Sparks and approved a resolution for new school districts to be added to the disaster relief act.

The following schools were added: Baxter Schools, Colfax-Mingo, Newton, Lynnville-Sully and PCM Community Schools.

The board approved construction permits presented by County Sanitarian Director Kevin Luetters. In addition, the board approved a new Library Board member, Evie Johnson.
