Christmas Season kicks off
The Christmas season got its annual jump start Friday with the lighting of the Jasper County Courthouse lighting display and the Newton Chamber of Commerce's lighted Christmas parade around the square. The theme of this year's parade was "Christmas on the Silver Screen," with lighted floats centered on Christmas movie themes. A Christmas carol singalong followed the courthouse lighting and parade.
